Sarah took Lasse and I to Minturn to go trick or treating. We had worked lasse pretty good on a bike ride earlier and he made it 3.41min into the car and was passed out. So we ended up just driving through the town and checking out all the cool costumes and houses decorated! It was awesome!

Monday
With no internet Im a few days behind. I have already done a road trip and cruised around the US by plane. I was trying to give a small example of the daily craziness and I guess it worked. I didn’t have a second to put up any pictures of how my road trip went on monday until today. So you will have to bare with me on the delay of daily activity! On monday I drove down Wyoming and into Colorado. Gorgeous day! Took a new trail one that I could not pass up since it involved a dirt road! I love this part of America the wide open spaces and how endless blue sky and rustic plains can be so marvelous! The drive was so meditational for me. I have an issue with needing everything to be perfect and in its place and planned out or organized and its nice for me to have to be stuck with myself in a car for 9 hours zoning out and enjoying the country that I love so much. But you must watch out for those road signs. A bump in Wyoming really means a ski jump! No speeding! I hope everyone is enjoying the week!

I was told by Jonathan Selkowitz to check out this road and the cool stops on the way where you can see the paintings on the rocks from the Indians who use to roam this valley. I enjoyed the jump, run, Indian dance break!
SUNDAY
Wake up drink 17 cups of Mate. Finish packing everything up, write a bunch of emails, check on winterized house items, put winter decorations up, clean the house, enjoy the house cleaned, one of my last at home for a while, make lots of yummy food, pack more things up, add another pair of snow boots, pack up the truck. Its time for winter to hit. The bags are packed for the next 10 adventures. Gas tank is full, everything is in its perfect place, I tried to soak up as much home as I could, the weather was amazing and the warmth from the last days of sun was spectacular and hiking in the mountains with the fresh wyoming air was just what I needed.

MNP headquarters is in walking distance of my fav surf board factory, Baked which has the best cappuccinos and the Dakine factory….. Pretty much all that I need. Nice Sunday cruz, enjoying the last days of being able to walk around in slippas, hair blowing, sun burning and a neck ache from charging too big of waves and eating donuts! Im sad to leave but I am happy to have built such a strong family here on the island and have such love for living life! Also I need be eating some snowflakes right about now!

A little bit of island love in the middle of October is good for the bones. We normally go to Europe for training at this time even if you are not racing Soelden but this year we are saving money and only sent the girls who are racing the GS in Soedlen! So good luck to them and hope they rip it up and start the season off right! Sarah is going to rip it I know! She is so strong and her skiing this summer was radical! So smooth and confident. I have good feelings about how the team is lining up!
As for me I am waiting for europa cups to make my GS debut and I felt like one more week training in the sun would do me good! It snowed in Jackson so I jumped to the Islands to get a few more bike rides in and some water play! I think its good for the mind body and soul to get out and do what makes you laugh and relax. I can tell you I am ready to race though, can barely fit in my bikinis and am sick of working out so that means race time!

The blanket has fallen. The trees have snow on them. That beautiful frosty first snow that covers the not totally changed leaves. Everyone in the valley slept a few hours more, cuddled up next to the fire. Put away all the gardening equipment, pulled out the pumpkin mix and went to town starting the fall baking marathon. Candles are lit, flowers are inside, winter sheets have been pulled out and all the windows have been winterized. Its so exciting and feels so cozy!
