Sometimes you just need to get away. Run wild and free, go on vacation in your own town and explore. We had a wonderful get away to Hana. Drank endless coconut juice, told Hawaiian ghost stories, battled rats, soaked up some sun, played in the waves, ran ocean rocks, jumped into secret pools and laughed a lot! I think its very important to get too wild, do some stupid stuff, loose yourself for a moment. Be able to look back and laugh and know you lived. Be happy with who you are and the people you are with! Relax, rejuvenate, lay around and then do it all over again. Have the time of your life!

My way home is going to take a while. We are on day two of the trying to get home. NZed got the storm of the century and literally shut the whole island down. All the airports closed for the week and roads are blocked. So we stayed another night in Queenstown and then set out today on an adventure drive across the island to try to get on the only airport that is flying! With some doggy driving and some interesting routes we attempted, I think we might make it tomorrow.
Couldn’t start the day with out a fergburger stop! Yummmmmm

giggle, laugh, work hard, be kind, let people be who they want to be, love your family, give back, never give up, dance and jump around when it starts to snow! It is coming down in big fat wet flakes. If we can’t fly out tomorrow I guess we get to ski some powder so win win. Smile and give love!

Training has been amazing so amazing Im having a hard time focusing. We have been taking lots of runs with high quality and great snow. Its coming to a close, tomorrow is our last day so I think I might just be a bit tired. My body has held up so well that Im just not use to being more mentally tired then physically tired. Usually its the other way around. I guess Im super stoked that my body feels great and I know that my work outs are paying off. Its great to work on the mental side of things as well. Pushing through bad runs or when Im scared or not as focused. Sarah helped me out yesterday in Gs and today in Slalom as well. Reminding me to take a step back and ski a bit rounder and chill out. It worked. So I think its just been great to be back on snow and be down with our first camp! Our team definitely has a lot of great energy and its been a lot of fun!

Early mornings in NZ. Probably the best sunrises you will ever get. I love that our first couple runs are in the dark and the earth is still sleeping below us and its so crisp and fresh and clean. Training has been amazing. Lots of runs, endless gates, coaches are amazing. Everyone is working so hard and its awesome to see everyone so into it. Canadians are here and the whole mens team so its been good energy. Everyone has a smile and it feels so comfortable to be out in the mountains tearing up snow in August!

I am pretty sure Air New Zealand gets the best airline award. They have the coolest safety video by far and the most comfortable seats, nicest bathrooms and coolest All Blacks Jet. Makes the 13 hours down here pleasant. Skiing has been amazing, snow is perfection and our team energy is great. New coaches, new team mates, new season and its all coming together nicely!
