Its been really nice to be home and its my favorite time of the year. The most beautiful warm fall days and crisp nights. Biking, hiking, the trees are coming alive. I feel like Im on a roll for getting stuff done. I wish I was here for the next two weeks but I have to jet down to Park City to work out. I guess they just don’t get that some people have a family and a life other than being a meat head in the gym. But like always we seem to find a way to get it all packed into the day. I had a day of booking tickets and now I feel like Im ready for the next couple months with plans.
I went to Mountain Athlete today in Jackson and It was awesome, Hadley got me to go and Rob put us through a kick ass work out. Man that guy can push you to the limit! Now for some more biking and enjoying my only week at home! I can’t wait for the next adventure but it feels good to just be me, do my thing, relax, hang at the home which built my soul and wait for the snow to fall! I need to get on it with the winterizing of the house!

This year was a very very fun year. Might have been because I haven’t skied in so long but man did we have fun. I think part of it is that we ( the tech team) doesn’t like to spend any time doing nothing. We have to rev it up and make every moment a creative laughter filled one. Also meeting new people and new teams like the Canadian Disabled team is always a highlight. They are the kindest kids and I think they might be joining us for some fun in Switzerland! Can’t wait!
Skiing was awesome, better than I expected. GS free skiing was great but have a lot to work on. Today I put my slalom skis on and zoom zoom zoom it felt amazing! I can’t wait till I get to train gates! Heading back tomorrow with Megan to go train some more so that I can make it to the next level.
All in all this has to have been the best trip to chile. I am sad to leave the snow but excited to go get bigger and stronger and Im really looking forward to all the fun we are going to have in Switzerland.
Happy 200th birthday chile and Happy 25Th to Hailey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot chocolate time!!!!! Camped out in our room, we have surf movies, windsurf movies, ski movies, we are making a movie, we have been practicing our epic rock band skills. Its snowing outside, not much, kinda like candy fluffing.
It ended up being awesome! Enough snow for me to have my first powder day of the year! It felt awesome to go out and free ski around like I was born to do! The skiing was perfect with a most groomers having a some fluffy stuff on top and ripping around building my leg muscles up!
In the afternoon we decided to get really creative and learn a dance routine. Its going to be awesome. Hailey is going to make a music video and we are really working on some good moves. Rodger is helping us with the technical part of dancing! When its all put together and practiced…. a lot Ill put it up for you to check out.
For now just a watching Kevin Rip in the Denmark’s Cold Hawaii event and cheering him on live. Check out facebook for the links and our first episode of Chile. Hailey is a rock star with the filming!

I skied and it was awesome! Its always amazing to get back on snow after almost a year. I always kinda second guess myself. I get out there and start talking to myself, kinda unsure if I can even make it to the chair lift and then I just put my skis on and zoom away. It has to be the strangest feeling, the pure naturalness of being born to do something. Where your mind is almost not connected to your feet. They just go and they know what they are doing and you are like, Ok I guess we are going to just rip down this hill and wow that was pretty easy. No big deal… gives me a laugh every time.
The snow here in Valle Navado is scarce. I was excited to come down and go off trail skiing but its probably a good thing that is not possible. Keeps me on the main run doing drills, which I bizarrely love. Yesterday was my first day so I just skied around and got my balance back and my feet only hurt after three runs and the chairlift gave me more pain than anything else. Today I woke up to another intense fog cloud. The girls went out earlier and I have been having the pleasure of really relaxed mornings, slow breakfast and some yoga before I head out. It was much crispier today. You couldn’t see anything, took me a while to find the team. Did some drills on my new Rossignals. Strange to look down and be like wow did I grab someone else’s skis??? But the best part is that they are black and have a big R on them. I think secretly I was suppose to be on them all along since the initials are RS and so are mine! Either way they match my outfit for the year and of course that is the most important thing. lol I decided on one of the runs down when I had to clear my lenses about 5 times from the ice that gets stuck on them that we, Shred, should make a dirt bike lense. One with tear offs. It would make it easier to see on days like this. From the vertigo, the hard snow, uneven ground ( that you can’t see) and the cold weather I think Im doing a pretty good job at getting back at it in quick time. NO messing around. To the point. Its amazing how much you don’t care about the cold or how you can’t see or how the weather might suck when you haven’t skied in so long. Its this awesome feeling where you don’t have a negative though, you are just like a little baby constantly smiling and up for anything. I hope I can keep this feeling going for a while! I realize now how mental it all is. When you are over something or if you are scared or stressed how much it effects your energy and attitude on the hill. Its important to check yourself and make sure you are on your program and doing your thing and always always making sure that you are having fun! My nose and toes did get cold. Thats when I decided to come inside and curl up and have some hot chocolate!

Made it to chile with extreme excitement to go skiing. flight was long but things went smoothly. Met up with Kiley, Hailey and Sarah and the rest of the gang and it was fun to catch up and say hi. We made it through customs with no hiccups, I was super nervous since last year I packed a bag of ORGANIC food and didn’t get to touch any of it. I was bummed and thought I was going to get arrested. But this year I secretly stuffed PACKAGED food around my bag. We stopped at the Jumbo which is like a Target on crack and it is pretty fun to hit up. I was a bit overwhelmed with the 100 different kinds of flavored yogurts. At the end you can play games with coupons and win wine and other drinks! Got what we needed since we trek up to 10000 feet and stay up there whole time. I brought some art supplies, magazines, nail polish and books to get me through.
We all passed out on the bus ride up which was a savor because there are about 130 curvas to get up here and I want to puke the whole way up. When we were almost to the top we woke up and discovered that we were totally socked in with weather. Intense steam clouds. and some hail and pretty cold. So my dream of skiing today was killed because it doesn’t seem to pass the safety test when you can’t see a foot in front of you. So we are camped out in our room watching ski movies, eating all the food we bought and catching up on our gossip. When I was home I was having that back to school feeling and all my most favorite yummy things start to come out this time of year, pumpkin spice lattes, desserts, Hot chocolates, crispy nights, big warm sweaters, its my favorite time of year!
On a side note, I am really struggling with the whole Bed Bug freak out. First Ernie had to freak me out and I couldn’t sleep for a while, now I am itchy every time I think about it an we just traveled on a sketchy old plane and I get overwhelmed just thinking about it. I think Im making myself itch. Anyways just trying to talk through it as I sit here scratching vigorously freaking out. I am ready to ski and to have a fun week of getting a jump start into the ski world. I need to catch up on some sleep too!
