Im back in Park City. Been on the road training and traveling and cheering! I had a wonderful week in Maui visiting Kaden for his first birthday. Its a big one in Hawaii for the first. We had amazing fun, lots of windsurfing, surfing, SUP, biking, eating, talking. It was great. I had my first day back with Ernie today and it went well. I always have a transition period where I want to cry when I get here. I don’t know what it is. To much time here as a kid or what. Close to home so I feel like I should be there, not sure what it is but I stay focused and get the job done. I am hoping that all things come out this week and I get to ski in Chile! Time to push it for the next two weeks!

Coming to the end of our Turkish vacation. Man it was fun but vacations can be tough( I don’t think ours is a normal one) Windsurfers have it hard, waiting around, in and out of the water, having to be on stand by the whole day. Always good to see other sports to get an idea, and know you might have it pretty good!
I can’t get out of bed here, I guess I have been training hard or I am just lazy but whatever it is once you let yourself sleep a little its like years come back and you want to sleep all the time. Maybe its the heat. ha ha either way Im on my third cup of Turkish tea waiting for the wind. I have been doing some video work. Check out the vids on FB or pwaworldtour.com let me know! he he
Here is a good photo of Papa Legends Prints. Thanks to Ingrid who was in Vienna with her father and took a picture for me! Thought you guys would like it!
Have a great day!

The white flowing dresses, massages by the beach, little cobble stone streets, amazing jewelry, old medieval feel with a modern twist. Im on vacation. I didn’t think I was going to be enjoying myself this much. Not much wind but enough for me to work on windsurfing, light enough were we could relax for the week. Now the races are on and Im in charge of video so I have to get up work out and get back to the beach to film. Where I work out is this place with all Russian and Turkish Mafia dudes that are like 300 lbs and they just sit and stare at this chick who is doing only leg work outs and they all want to talk to me which makes the work outs take very long. Extremely nice people! I bike back to the beach have a snack and then tough out the heat its like 34 degrees C so super hot. Everyone slumps a little around 3 and then it begins to cool off and it actually gets really nice. Thats when I go on a bike ride around the country. Beautiful beautiful water and beaches a campers paradise, sad to say there is a bit of trash.
At night we sometimes hitch hike or take this awesome bus that just picks people up on the side of the road for 2 turkish lira and takes you where ever you want to go. The town is just the cutest thing ever. Tiny walking streets. I was poking into stores and kinda a weird vibe and then I figured it out. Once we went to dinner in town a very splendid little grill on the streets with amazing oven roasted duck, figs, mushrooms and caramelized onions. Kevin and I didn’t talk the whole time because it was the best people watching ever. We just sat and stared and watched people walk back and forth. The town was just getting started at 7pm. All the stores stay open till 2 or 3 in the morning and it was like heaven. Even though I can’t stay up that late, everyone was just starting to shop at 8 I loved it! Im going to have to have some coffee at around 5 and then go out and have some fun!
The people here are just endlessly nice. Although I have learned that the really nice ones are all working class. There is definitely a minority here with the men and women don’t have as much power which can be frustrating some times. I dislike it when people don’t talk to your face because you are a women but I guess its just a different culture. I come from a family with strong women, so its a much different feel. We have had so many tea dates, everyone offers you Chai tea which is just real black tea that is all made north of here in Turkey on the black sea. My mom would love it. Its fun to just hang out and talk to people visit the little windsurfing shops and talk to the owner of the hotel. Otel in Turkish. We have a wonderful waiter that works so hard to get me what I want with my GF pasta and bread. Most of the time he burns it or forgets to put the pasta on but he tries. Breakfast is a whole other thing we get about 20 different cheese options with cucumbers and tomatoes, everything is grown right here. The other day a Turkish team mate of Kevins took us on a little drive into the country to have breakfast and taste this thing that was pretty much a ball of cream cheese. I have never seen boys get so excited about butter. It was a creamed butter that had been frozen, creamed, sat for a bit and tastes amazing with honey. We picked up a mellon on the side of the road on the way and it was truly delicious! All and all the trip is going very well now kevin just needs to get on it and get in there. Yesterday was a disaster of a day but I think we can’t do any worse so today will be good!
Besides the amazing food the history of Turkey is always so fascinating to think that turkey could once have been the most powerful country in europe, it still is quite powerful but the past, the wars and all that is coming and going and the money here is so crazy, its a very strong passionate country. Besides the towns on the coast they say the rest of the country is wide open country with a few ski resorts and not much else. Also another fun fact Istanbul is the only city that occupies two continents Europe and Asia. We are on the Asian side. Its quite a place!

To my friend Keely

Miles to go before I sleep

Dear Keely,
We started this journey a long time ago in a little place called Red Lodge, the journey has been crazy, scary, sad, extreme happiness, travel, friends, family. I had a buddy a best friend to go through life with, to start a goal to always live life to the MAX to laugh, and laugh some more, to live and to love, and when life gets tough throw it back in its face and keep going. I have never forgotten those giggly nights those endless entertaining adventures and the feeling of never getting enough always wanting to see another corner of the world, to see another amazing sunset and to breathe the freshest air around, jump into the deepest sea and scare the hell out of ourselves. This one is to you Keely and to all the great great friends who are there for us when we are scared and when we feel like we can’t fight our own fight. This is to the amazing people who push our buttons and who bring us to our limits and push us off and then catch us. This is to the amazing adventures that we have coming for us and for our next journeys in life. This beautiful beautiful thing we call life!

Ill keep this one running through my mind and Ill never stop never sleep never let go never give up, because I know you will kick my butt and I want to prove to the world that happiness is everywhere even when you are crying your heart out or in the most pain you have been in, somewhere deep there is some form that brings us happiness.

From Keely
i thought of you when i was drawing this. remember all those things we would make for each other with quotes on them and motivational drawings? this is another for you… never sleep resi keep going, keep inspiring, keep smiling and you will always end up on a good path. i believe in you. keep going. miss you .

Thank you Keely and All my love to you and everyone who believes!

The Fig Tree

Im in love with Alacati. Its so beautiful, the quant little town, the cobble streets, white and blue washed windows, the people are sweet. I have the lucky chance to pick figs straight off the tree, olive trees and colors galore. I love they way people dress here, everyones tan skin and flowing dresses and dark features. The tea and relaxing everyone is doing so well. I ate about 50 figs so far, see what will happen tomorrow. I have been so inspired I want to take pictures of everything so that everyone can see this different culture. I have been to Istanbul once before but this is different, this is where people get out of the city, get to the turkish roots and splurge and live and love! _MG_0268

Good Morning!

On the road again, windsurfing and work out trip to Europe/Asia. We were in Fuerteventura Spain for a week and it had the most beautiful water. Some hammer head sharks and good windsurfing. I was stoked to see a new place and one that kevin has gone to for about 15 years. By the end though i was so excited to leave, the whole Island seems like it might blow away from how powerful the wind is and it never stops. Constantly in your face. I was ready for a change so much that when I landed in Germany at 2am I was relieved and felt like I was at home. Shortly after we got on a plane for Izmir Turkey. We are on the coast in a beautiful little town of Alacati. We are staying in the plush little castle by the sea. We just got here and still nervous we got the Hotel mixed up because we never get nice hotels but at least I will have had one amazing breakfast. I was dreaming of Mcdonalds there for a couple days thats how bad Fuerte got. Anyways I passed out in the car from the hotel since I only had about 1 hour of sleep and then found my way sniffing out an iced coffee which could not have been any closer to a Wild Tribe. Wonderful people here, blue ocean, hot sun, greekish stones and men running around waiting on you. I am so hyped up from an iced coffee and black turkish tea I ate about 10 lbs of cheese already since I can’t eat the amazing fresh oven baked bread. Trying to keep up with Kevin so I am writing this blog and then jumping in the pool to cool off! Enjoy your day!!!!!!!!!
