Im alive, hiding from the world, healing once again, day after day the count down begins. Sadness doesn’t explain, more of an emptiness but at the same time grateful for all that I still have. This is never easy but what is. I have amazing people around me helping me and healing me and a world at my finger tips. Thank you everyone who has helped me along and who is sending love and prayers! It means the world to me.
Bubbles and smiles, loves and laughter! Another year down another amazing one to come! Beautiful electric snow flakes glisten on my eyelashes for my finnish birthday, years of love and happiness, of freedom and exploring flickers in my mind. Silliness and giggles of a lucky girl. Birthday cake and getting drunk on wine in a bath tub full of bubbles. Sparklers and birthday hats that make you feel like a queen! And never forget those birthday spankings! TWENTY FOUR this year!
We had an absolute beautiful day today. We got to freeski on the hill and the sun came out just in time for it at one in the afternoon and then set at 3. A perfect last day of being 23!
We are in Levi, Finland and boy its crisp up here. It feels like Christmas and you crave hot chocolate all the time. We had a good trip up here, played bananagrams and hung out in the Helsinki Airport for a while. Twelve hours later (yes it took 12 hours to get to Finland from Germany). We were all hyped up I felt like I could have gone skiing. Our team is so awesome and we have so much fun together. We push each other, make fun of each other and laugh a lot. Whether we are telling stories, watching way to much youtube or just being totally out of control. We have fun.
Its like a little snow globe world up here. Looks like someone shook us and you can never really tell what time it is. When we got out on the hill this morning it felt like we were going out for a night session. I was so excited to ski because we had two days off one being travel and it just feels so good getting outside with the wind in your face. Its a cute little place here, a bunch of new buildings so must be getting popular!
I found out today that Trevor sleeps. I went to get him beer for him to practice is beer commercials with ( I got carded and the drinking age is no more than 17 so I was stoked) and went to give it to him and he opened the door grabbed the beer and said thanks for waking me up. Hailey and I couldn’t believe we caught him sleeping. It was unreal, now I know when he sleeps, every couple days he takes a nap. That’s probably it.
Either way we are having a blast up here and excited to be racing soon! The vibe is back to being good and whenever you feel down all you have to do is get Sarah to laugh so you can check out her cracked out redneck cute missing tooth smile and listen to her twangy we ain’t in Texas anymore howl.
Finally got to see the sun shine in 9 days! Unreal. Just in time to head up to Finland. We are done training. Racing time is back on. Training was pretty tough this week but I had to keep in mind what my mother always told me. Its good to suck before a race. I guess I usually do. Who knows. All I know is I want a sick birthday present and kicking butt this weekend is what is going to satisfy that! So I better kick it up!
Im excited to race, I really like going up to Finland. Its so different and the Arctic life is just so cozy and remote at the some time. I like that feeling, being totally alone but somehow having some warmth in your heart. We had some serious backing jobs going on. One bag we are leaving in europe for when we come back in December, one bag going to Finland but then we can’t bring to much so we are leaving a bag in a car next to the airport so when we fly back through Munich on the way home on sunday we can run out grab it and check it and get back on our next flight. So Complicated. Gotta make sure everything is in the right place! Always exciting and always with a smile! Lots of love!
We are just training for a couple days in Haus, Austria. After Germany we had a day off, I went to Telfs with Sarah and had a Sauna day, a nice hike and yummy Thai food. Now we just training and getting in our last slalom days before we head up to Finland. Some how we keep following the damp dreary weather around so I guess its good to practice for the lights out Finland. We have been watching lots of inspirational Surf videos and keeping up with all the fun that Kevin is having on Maui.
Trying to get into the facebook and twitter thing but always wanting to run from that stuff. Im so el natural and love to run wild and free. More my style but I guess If I want to get sponsored any time soon I gotta show people how cool I am! he he Maybe some one could do a documentary about my life and blow all these surfer/boarder coolies out of the water with my rough and tough carve it up style!
As for inspirational we had a signing today and it was so sweet to see all the little kids all sparkly eyes and so happy to hang out and see what they can grow up to be! Crazy roamin the world one adventure after the other!
Wow we just had some of the best training ever. And it was indoors. Crazy! We went up to Hamburg and skied indoors at this fun park. Hotel, restaurant, ski area all in one. It was crazy. I have been to an indoor ski area before and it was not that sweet but this was amazing! I loved it! The snow was so good, we ripped it up! We training with the boys or right next to them so we got to compare starts and watch who is fast and imitate them. We also had a full race day with a triple session sess. Starting at 7 in the am to 7 at night. We pushed each other so hard. We have some super rippers so it was good to see how things ended up. Only problem was that the snow was so icy that it led to some serious bet ups. I got a gate in the face, chest, arms legs, boobs and butt.
We also didn’t make it outdoors the whole time which is probably not that good for you and the food sucked but the training was so good it didn’t matter! It was a prefect!
The smell of Halloween. The costumes are out and the pumpkins glow. Frost is all over, the crunch on the way to your car, scarves wrapped around the your neck, hands stuffed into jackets the smell of last winter still lingers. Candy and baking, cookies and cakes. Filling up on hearty warm meals to last through the winter. Hunting with friends, endless laughter with family. Diving into hot springs, curling up in bed, shoveling the snow from the deck. Dreaming of thanksgiving. Listening to peoples souls sung through husky wild rancher voices. The songs from the past and for the season. A break was nice and filled me with energy. Energy for the next Scandinavian adventure. Where the sun does not rise or set and reindeer run wild and hot chocolate is your water. Where it feels like christmas all the time and you would love to sleep in your uggs. To bad my love is not coming with me to cuddle the cold away. On the road again. November is here and its my favorite time of year!
